Hamilton Sculptors' Guild profile: The work of soapstone sculptor, John Tice

John Tice is a Kingston-born sculptor, currently living in Binbrook, whose work history includes 18 years as a stock broker in Hamilton. He was attracted to wood carving for decades but did not consider himself to be very creative.
Then one day he finally picked up a piece of wood and a pocket knife. One thing led to another and he carved his first chess set; walking sticks and representations of animals soon followed.
