The last, but certainly not the least of our interviews with Fringers. Some interesting plots and interesting people. These shows are likely to appeal to a fan of comedic drama, to people who love to laugh. Enjoy!
Test is about a couple retelling the story of their past to learn about themselves and their relationship. They happen to be retelling their past in a game of LARP (live-action role playing), where the rules can change and thus the outcome can too. See it at Hamilton Theatre Inc.
The Bird’s Nest is for the fan of the absurd. A comedy about a man and his hair, on trial. The short play, just 25 minutes, uses dialogue to explore mental health and communication issues. Catch it as part of this year’s new Gallery Mini Series.
Third Person comes from Montreal-based writer and director, Brandon Wicke. It’s an existential comedy that’s meant to examine our own insignificance in the face of our universe’s immensity. George and Byron, two inquisitive travellers who just happen to come into contact with an invisible (imaginary?) being who communicates with them through various scrolling texts.
XOXO is a short, 25-minute comedy written, produced and starred in by Two Juliets (Meghan Chalmers & Franny McCabe-Bennett). It’s an examination of relationships, human connections, and the “woes” that can come along with them.
