Our sense of sight is what we rely on the most as we navigate our daily activities. But what would life be like if our sight was diminished or totally absent? Would our other senses be all the more acute to make up for the loss?
Sense It, brought to Hamilton by the newly formed group, Sense4Change, will give you the chance to find out! Organized by Lara Besermenji and Paula Kilburn the event will introduce people to the concept of using our other senses when tasting food, as well as increasing understanding regarding what it’s like to not have your full sight.
It’s also the launch event for another upcoming dining experience: Dining in the Dark, a full course dinner which will take place in May 2014.
Taking place at Stonewalls Restaurant on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 Sense It will offer delicious appetizers created by Stonewalls’ chef Fred Wicks and guest chef Mike Benninger.
While wearing a blindfold guests will travel to different food stations and be served a variety of tasty treats. Acoustic music will be played and the tactile art of local artist Yvonne Felix will be available for your enjoyment. A dining in the dark challenge and door prizes will round out the evening’s fun.
Proceeds go to the CNIB to support their client services programs. Come out to enjoy an experience unlike any you have had before!
