Most people know by now that Hamilton rocks in many creative ways. Cyndi Ingle, a photographer who rediscovered a love for photography about seven years ago, decided that it was time that local photographers, both professional and non-professional, have a facebook group to call their own. Thus Hamilton Photographers Rock was born!
In the space of a year the group has grown to over 1000 people who post photos, share their knowledge and advice with each other, sell or swap equipment, and often wrangle with ethical issues.
Cyndi has organized and hosted two photography workshops for group members and recently asked a small group of members to help plan HPR first show with her.
Hamilton Photographers Rock: Visions of Hamilton, takes place at Sealed Art, 89 Gage Street, Hamilton until April 4/14. The show features the outstanding photography of 20 members who will be displaying and selling their work.
Showing their visions of Hamilton, the show will be as diverse as the members, featuring wildlife photography, urban scenes, nudes, Hamilton treasures such as Cootes Paradise, Dundurn Castle and Ivor Wynne Stadium, and much more. Come prepared to look at your town in a new way.
