“A garden party on steroids”, that’s the best summary of The Rotary Club of Burlington Central’s annual fundraiser, Lakeside a la Carte. Spencer Smith Park, Sunday August 9, 1 to 4 p.m. is the place to be.
Every year new additions keep guests coming back for more. More than 40 restaurants, wineries, breweries and spirits join together under elegant white marquis style tents. Add in the serenity of the lake, smooth easy listening live entertainment, a huge silent auction and opportunities to win incredible prizes. This year a live auction is being added with some irresistible items to keep the bidders happy and the spectators entertained.
The result? You’ve got the perfect storm of afternoon delight!
For just one price of $100, guests enjoy all food, beverages and entertainment. Because it’s all for charity, there is a $55 charitable tax receipt with each ticket; hard to get a better deal than that! Round up a group of 8 or more and you can reserve your own table.
The Grand Raffle is a reason to attend all on its own! Air Canada has donated 2 tickets anywhere it flies in North America including Mexico, the Caribbean and Hawaii. And Green Thumb Landscaping’s donation of a wheel barrow filled with great wines was such a hit last year; it will be back again this year.
The raffle tickets are $20 each or 3/$50. A maximum of 1250 tickets are sold. Great odds! Tickets are available now.
Rotarians are known for combining fun and fund-raising. The largest rib-fest in Canada is run by The Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore. “We love to entertain…we love to give back to our community.” Each year the goal is to top the year before. A fabulous event for guests each and every time.
The silent auction features more than $25,000 worth of quality merchandise. This year, The Art Gallery of Burlington is helping co-ordinate the auction and will be including approximately 25 pieces of art to the sale. It is a huge draw for the guests. Items valued from $75 up are available.
This year marks 16 years of summer fun by the lake, all for charity. The Rotary Club of Burlington Central’s contribution to the community from this event is more than $600,000. Some guests have been attending every year for the full 16 years. It’s an event everyone looks forward to, so join in the fun and get your tickets today!
