Glamour in the Hammer, a fundraiser for the Good Shepherd on Friday, April 22, 2016 tantalized the senses with an evening bursting with delicious cuisine, drinks, fashion, and a gravity defying performance by the members of the Hamilton Aerial Group.
With over 600 people in attendance at the Cotton Factory, thousands of dollars were raised to support the Good Shepherd Venture Centre at 155 Cannon Street East. The programs at the Centre create opportunities for people living in the Beasely community, helping to lay the foundations for successful and healthy lives.
Before the fashion show segment of the evening, which was coordinated by Kerry Wade and Lynn Bebee of Blackbird Studios, guests visited nine food stations, and sampled wine, beer and martinis! Tasty treats were supplied for the evening by Acclamation; Mulberry Street Coffeehouse; Mezcal; Jack & Lois; Nellie James Too; Rousseau House; Two Black Sheep; Raspcallion; and Pub Fiction. Wine flowed all evening thanks to Chateau des Charmes, and beer lovers enjoyed the offerings from Nickel Brook Brewing Company. Martinis lovers enjoyed special creations by Two Black Sheep.
Once the fashion show began all eyes (and cameras) were rivited to the runway as eight local designers presented their new collections. Celebrity models took a turn on the stage, including Mayor Fred Eisenberger, wearing a tuxedo jacket designed by Angela DeMontigny, who strolled the runway like it was his job!
The designers at Glamour in the Hammer included Volver; Designs by Mallory; Eye of Faith; Lissa Hill Leather; Angela DeMontigny; Vespidame; Jewellery by Karen, and Blackbird Studios, who ended the fashion show with their Dear John Autumn and Winter 2016 collection.
