The title song on the debut album from Hey Major, “The Station” has a very straightforward and clear message about being grateful for those you love and how sometimes you don’t know how valuable they are to you until you lose them.
The song is easy on the ears and is a tad upbeat, but not to the point where it takes away from the theme of the song. It’s also a little laid back but does not take away from the message – being appreciative of people that love, support and care for you.
As Nashville’s international songwriter award winners in 2016, Michael and Raphael Fortin of Hey Major are very successful in delivering their messages to their listeners through their songs. This could be good or bad, depending how you look at it. Some people prefer to look for an artist’s message while others
like it more clear and discrete, and easy to comprehend.
They are mostly influenced by rock artists which is noticeable in their style. But it also reminds me of a song from the game; Fallout; New Vegas which is called “Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow.”
Enjoy “The Station” with its similar mood and theme.
