Maybe, Tomorrow from The Fame’s debut EP is relaxing and upbeat but not to the point where it sounds like modern pop music. The song reminds me of the Smashing Pumpkins’ track “1979”, a song which talks about restlessness and being fearful and frustrated about not knowing the future.
Maybe, Tomorrow is like that, because on the flipside, not knowing the future can make life more interesting and exciting.
In the 1990s, kids acting independent of family became more of a theme. This song relates to exploring who you are and not what people want you to be.
This is one of the band’s favourite songs to play live, check it out and find out why!
