The John Howard Society of Hamilton, Burlington & Area’s Sippin’ at the Dock of the Bay 9th annual fundraiser on Friday, June 7/19 was a huge success, with guests enjoy a beautiful evening at the picturesque Macassa Bay Yacht Club.
There was no shortage of delicious food, including Jamaican pattys provided by the Jamaican Patty Shack; jerk chicken, salads and a cake and ornate cupcakes for dessert. As they sipped refreshing drinks and listened to the Hamilton Youth Steel Orchestra guests helped the John Howard Society of Hamilton celebrate 70 years of serving Hamilton, Burlington & Area!
Mike Fortune from Cable 14 did an amazing job as the event’s emcee and keynote speaker Sabastion Mentore spoke about how funding and guidance from the John Howard Society has helped to change his life.
A silent auction with numerous items and raffles for prizes such as a diamond ring and tubs full of wine rounded out the fun evening. Versa One was there at the end of the evening to provide music to get people up dancing.
The photo gallery below shows some of the fun had by all. Plan to attend next year with the knowledge that not only will you and your friends have a fantastic time but that you will be helping to support marginalized and financially at risk youth and adults in our community, as they work towards positive changes.
